Benefits of the Toshiba Satellite P55T-A5116

If your upgrading from an older and slower laptop model and performance is a big deal for your next purchase you will not be left disappointed with the P55T-A5116 which has plenty of power to spare. The mid-range Intel Core i5 along with plenty of memory at 8 GB means this machine can easily handle higher end applications as well as multi-task without slowing to a crawl. On top of this with it’s support for up to 16 GB of memory you can easily extend the life of this model down the road if more power is needed by simply adding addtional memory.

This model is not only powerful but portable as well with a full 5 hours and 18 minutes of battery life which will have you on the move without looking for a power source for extended periods of time. To add to the battery life it is also a very light 5.3 pounds and just 1 inch thick.

For those that still love to use physical media they will be happy to find that Toshiba has not done away with the optical drive like other models and you can still read as well as write both DVD’s and CD’s.

Downsides of the Toshiba Satellite P55T-A5116

As mentioned above the optical drive is still present in the P55T-A5116 and for those of us who have moved away from this older technology and no longer have a use for it this is disappointing. If Toshiba had removed this from the design it would have made it even lighter and slimmer making it an even better portable option.

The 750 GB SATA harddrive is just average and much like the optical drive having removed this for a faster SSD model would have added some addtional performance to this model and made it an even better choice when it comes to performance.

Verdict on the Toshiba Satellite P55T-A5116

Overall a great choice for both mobility and performance, While we did find a couple of areas that this could have been improved the Toshiba Satellite P55T-A5116 still stacks up very favourably to other models in this price range and should be near the top of your list when making your next laptop purchase decision.
